House Wine RedColumbia Valley, Washington - $10

You can’t judge a wine by its label and this one is no exception. Hailing from the Magnificent Wine Co. in Washington State, the simply named House Wine Red is a blend of 54% Cabernet, 30% Merlot, with some Syrah, Malbec and Cab Franc for good measure.

Eastern Washington’s Columbia River Valley is on the other side of the Cascade Mountains and has drastically different weather than Seattle. The rain is very limited, the daytime temperatures are hot and the nights cool. These conditions are perfect for growing Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and many other grapes.

Winemaker, Charles Smith, is best known for his boutique wines at K Vintners. However, he sources the grapes for the House Wine from all over the Columbia Valley, making a fantastic, smooth and versatile easy-drinking red. Buy this wine by the case!
