It’s finally here. Labor Day Weekend; the unofficial end of all things summer. In a few days it will no longer be appropriate to wear white. Good thing this fashion rule doesn’t apply to wine because we have an awesome bottle that is perfect for summer but can be enjoyed all year!
The 2007 Honig Sauvignon Blanc from the family owned vineyard in Napa Valley, is the perfect wine to crack open during this long weekend.
It’s a super crisp and refreshing white with bright tropical, grapefruit and citrus flavors. This sustainably grown and produced wine is perfect for sipping, whether you’re enjoying a hot summer’s day or just dreaming about them.
Drink with as as many oysters, mussels, crabs and other shellfish that you can get your hands on. Just don’t forget to drink it with family and good friends this weekend.

Where can we find it? At least in the Boston area? I’d love to learn where you are finding these wines that you’re recommending. I found the Paso a Paso Verdejo at Brookline Liquor Mart, but have yet to find El Burro at about a half dozen stores in the greater Boston area (mostly South Shore).
Help! Please add where you encountered it, restaurant, wine store or otherwise!
Aha! Working backwards in my RSS reader, I noticed http://www.thesecondglass.com/index.php/features/find-your-wine-on-the-web
Thanks!
