Coolidge Corner

I know what you are thinking, why do we need another wine shop in Coolidge Corner and how are they going to compete with Trader Joe’s and Best Cellars? The area thinks that two CVS pharmacies are necessary, so why not provide you with numerous wine stores?

One afternoon, I decided to venture in and see what they had to offer. First of all, the store smelt amazing and the workers were very excited to help.  Also, they offer a slightly different wine selection compared to their competition and if that isn’t enough they have a wide variety of beer, sake and liquor.  Even though it is on the upscale side, the prices are reasonable and worth crossing the street for.  This place defiently deserves a second trip.

  1. I stopped in last night…and was very pleased with the selection of liquor, wine, sake, cider, and brews (many more microbrews and Trappists/Belgians than the typical neighborhood liquor store). Also, picked up a wonderful jar of whole-grain cranberry artisanal mustard (which was g-r-e-a-t on sourdough). The staff was extremely friendly and stressed that customer suggestions regarding products ‘not carried’ would receive serious consideration.

If you prefer a snobbier staff, then go elsewhere. As for me, I’ll be returning (soon).
