The Dangers of Sabrage

Alright. We here at The Second Glass have been preaching about the amazingness of Sabrage (the technique of opening a Champagne bottle with a large knife or sword) for over a year now. We have sliced more bottles than we can count, but we usually don’t talk about the level of danger it usually entails.
All staff members who were around before the “Indoor Sabrage Ban” have glass stuck in their feet. We’ve all seen Sabrage “gone wrong” and we’re aware that waving a large, sharp knife after a few cocktails is not the best idea in the world. We learned most of these lessons the hard way, but we just received an email from a friend, reminding us about the perils of this decadent sport.
“I wanted to forward along a photo of what happens when you buy really cheap champaign and then try to impress your friends with Sabrage. However, instead of impressing them, you end up covering the kitchen in glass shards and champagne. Enjoy! ”

Oh the horrors!
