I really love all the new drinking organizations that hold “Meetings.” The Second Glass has been holding Wine Club “Meetings” off and on for a few years, but they are nothing like the LUPEC “Meeings.” LUPEC stands for Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails and they host get together all over the city. Most official members are bartenders or work in the restaurant and bar industry in Boston. On Sunday, they held a Ladies Night at Toro in the South End. The evening was a benefit for The Friends Boutique at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
We drank St-Germain cocktails and munched on some Spanish tapas. I showed up with my girlfriend and our roommate and noticed all of the ladies (I guess I wasn’t paying too close of attention to the name of the event). This prompted me to text the person who would most enjoy a room filled with classy drinks and even classier women; our very own Lord Photography Ari.
A great time was had by all and we ended up winning a $100 gift certificate to The Independent in Somerville.
You can check out the LUPEC website here but it doesn’t look like it’s been updated too recently. Stay tuned for future events.
