Bottle Shock: A New Wine Movie?

Bottle ShockSlated for an August 6th release, Bottle Shock (view the trailer here), tells the story of the 1976 Paris Tasting where the new California wines beat out the top French wines in a blind tasting by some of Paris’ most respected experts. This event shocked the wine world and officially put California on the map. My guess is the movie was inspired by George M. Taber’s book, Judgment of Paris: California vs. France and the Historic 1976 Paris Tasting That Revolutionized Wine.

Regardless, this movie looks awesome if only that Alan Rickman plays a snobby Englishman. Plus, there seems to be an attractive female actress, so you know they’ll get my $10.50.
